List of SonarServer Compatible Fish Finders and Multifunction Displays

Plotters Image for Post

There are many Fish Finders and Multifunction Displays that are compatible with the Digital Yacht Sonar Server and we have compiled a list of the most popular current and legacy models from the major manufacturers. To download the latest version of the list please click here.

This list is for guidance only and although care has been taken to make the list as accurate as possible, it should not be 100% relied upon as manufacturers change their specifications, features are added/removed with new software releases, installations may not be fully interfaced together, etc.

Most Chart Plotters that have a built-in sounder or that are networked to a black box sounder module or depth instrument, should be able to output Depth and GPS data to the Navionics App. Some of the units listed do not output the NMEA0183 data by default and some menu configuration may be necessary, please check the product’s User Manual for more information.

Many new units have both NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 interfaces and a few of the latest units only have NMEA2000. These units have “Optional NMEA0183 Converter Required” written in the notes column. We do not currently produce an NMEA2000 version of the Sonar Server, but our NavLink wireless NMEA2000 server has been tested with Navionics SonarCharts “Live” and it works very well. 1. Your link above in “Please click here for more details on our NavLink product.” http://www.digitalyachtamerica.com/index.php/en/products/interfacing/nmea-to-wifi-adaptors/product/98-navlink-wireless-nmea2000-server
    returned a “Ooops… Error 404
We are sorry, but the page you are looking for does not exist.”

I’m trying to find out if I can use your product with my old through-hull sonar transducers (one used to link to a Lowrence X-28; the other an Autohelm something or other).

    Thanks

    Steve

    • Hi Steve,

Sorry about the 404 error, our original NavLink wireless NMEA2000 interface is no longer made, but we will be releasing a new NavLink2 that does more conversions, is cheaper and easier to setup. Just finishing off the promotional material and manual, but should be released before the end of June.

As for your two thorugh-hull transducers I suspect that these are conventional passive transducers, rather than the “Smart” NMEA transducers you can get that have the sounder circuitry built-in and calculate/transmit the depth as NMEA data. Our Sonar Server would work with one of these NMEA0183 “Smart” transducers but not the far more common passive transducers. Do you still have any depth sounders/fish finders connected to these transducers? If you do, we maybe able to find a suitble NMEA0183 output to hook the Sonar Server to.

      Best regards
      Paul

      • Thanks Paul

I have no other depth sounders connected to these transducers, so am looking for a replacement.

Thoughts about installing the included transducer of the T-Box SP2000 under the v-berth in my 27′ fibreglass monohull sailboat?

(I noted some user review who said he epoxied the transducer inside the hull of his sailboat). Temp data loss, but that’s fine. I’m primarily wanting a view of the bottom ahead as I navigate into narrow channels for overnighting.

Your product looks to be well suited for me to work with the Navionics Boating app on my IOS devices, but perhaps I should await your next T-Box that includes the Navlink2?

        Thanks for your advice,

        Steve
