With the release of Version 7.4 of their hugely popular Boating App, Navionics have introduced their new SonarCharts “Live” technology that allows the App to wirelessly receive depth data from any Fish Finder, Depth Sounder, Instrument System or Multi-Function Display that has an NMEA 0183 output.
When connected to Digital Yacht’s new Sonar Server, the app can log your depth data every time you go sailing. Once back on dry land and connected to the internet, the App will anonymously upload your depth data to the powerful Navionics Chart servers, where it will be processed and released as HD bathymetric charts that you can download with your chart updates.
The more you sail, the better your charts will become as your data is merged with data from thousands of other users to create the most detailed electronic charts available on the market today.
